Plain-language summary, written to be read. This is our honest description of how we handle your data; it is not legal advice, and we are having it reviewed by an attorney before paid accounts launch.

The short version: The free calculator and analyzer read your Etsy files right on your device — they're never uploaded to us. If you buy a Real Wage Audit, you email us those files and we use them only to prepare your report, then delete them. Otherwise the only thing we store is the email address you choose to give us — deletable anytime by emailing hello@makerworth.com.

Who we are

MakerWorth is an independent tool that helps Etsy sellers understand their true profit. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Etsy, Inc. You can reach us at hello@makerworth.com.

Your Etsy files — the free tools vs. the audit

Free calculator & analyzer: these run entirely in your web browser. When you drop in a CSV that Etsy gave you, it's read in your browser's memory to calculate your numbers. It is not sent to us, uploaded to any server, or stored anywhere — close the tab and it's gone.

The $19 Real Wage Audit: here you email us your two CSV files so we can prepare your report by hand. We use them only to create your pay stub, we never sell or share them, and we delete them once your report is sent (or sooner on request). The order-items file contains your buyers' names and addresses; we don't use that for anything beyond preparing your report.

What we do collect

Your email address — if you sign up for our free newsletter, use an "email me" form, or buy an audit. We use it to send what you asked for (your audit, the newsletter) and occasional updates about MakerWorth. Email delivery is handled by a third-party form/email provider on our behalf.
Basic, anonymous usage counts — such as how many people opened the calculator — using privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics. This does not identify you.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone for their own marketing.
We do not connect to your Etsy shop, and nothing here can touch your listings, orders, or account.
We do not train AI models on your shop's data.

Deleting your data

Email hello@makerworth.com and ask us to remove you. We will delete your email address from our list promptly. If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (which, today, is essentially just your email).

When the paid product launches

The subscription version of MakerWorth will save the numbers you choose to keep (your product costs and monthly summaries) in a secure account so you don't have to re-enter them. Even then, the rule stays the same: your raw Etsy files are parsed on your device, and only the derived numbers you choose to save are stored — always with a one-click "delete everything" option. We will update this page and ask for your clear consent before any of that applies to you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
